Finally, We're Counting in Days

A year and a half ago, when we started the process that would bring Piper into our family, everything we would be doing was measured in months and weeks. We were told it would be about six months from our initial application before all approvals were done and our dossier to China (DTC) date. We also heard of the 6-8 month wait from DTC to referral, and the 6-11 week wait from referral to travel. As of today, we are past measuring in months and weeks. This morning, we learned we had been given our travel assignment. We are now waiting (I know, waiting again), for our consulate appoint (CA). Our agency has requested the CA, and in 1-3 DAYS, we should know when we will travel. Based on the dates that were request for the appointment, we could leave for China to meet Piper by the middle of next week. Finally we are DAYS from holding our daughter in our arms. What a journey this has been, and it is about to get a lot more interesting.
