Getting to know Piper
Our first night with Piper went very well. After a long nap yesterday afternoon, we were afraid that we would spend a lot of the night awake. However, Piper woke up only once around 1:00 am. After about an hour, she was back to sleep for the rest of the night.
We spent this morning completing the paperwork for Piper’s adoption and the application for her passport. After a stop at Wal-mart before we returned to the hotel, we spent the rest of the day getting to know Piper, and her getting to know us. What we know so far: She likes to eat, and doesn’t mind telling you when she is hungry, she will use every ounce of her energy to fight falling asleep, she has a beautiful smile, loves to laugh, loves to be bounced, and splash during bathtime.
We were invited to our local guide’s room this afternoon to look at some silk clothes. Everything was so beautiful. We even convince Vicki to try some things on. It was a wonderful experience, and made for some great picturesWe are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter, and can’t wait for everyone to meet her.

I am so thrilled to see her sitting up all by herself! She must have had some extra special nannies loving her and caring for her!
I am positive that I won't be getting a lot done over the next week...

What a lovely family picture you all took. I have looked at the pictures I bet at least a dozen times and get tears in my eyes every time. I am just so happy for you guys.It is so good to see your dream of holding you little girl in your hands come true and the dream is now reality. Vicki and Michael, please make sure you tell Piper that her great aunt Kathy and great uncle Dale can't wait to meet her and we all ready love her to pieces.

Hi guys...I am so excited to meet Piper. October won't come soon enough. She is absolutely adorable and I can't wait to hold her. I've been showing her off to all of my new dorm friends. I have yet to put her picture on myspace though. haha. just kidding of course. I've been thinking of you.

Nathaniel usually only wakes up in the night when he hasn't slept *enough*. We have never had problems with him waking up because he slept too much!

Congratulations. You have a beautiful daughter. Her smile is wonderful. The girls have looked at their pictures dozens of times and ooh and aah over their new cousin. We cannot wait to see you all. Happy and safe travels on your return. We are very happy for you all.
