A Morning at the Park

After a day of rest from visiting sites here in Nanchang, Piper was back out today. All the families went to a park this morning. The park was very beautiful, but it failed to keep Piper’s attention. She fell asleep shortly after arrival, and woke only a few moments before we returned to our hotel where us and another family order some Pizza Hut. The rest of the day was spent hanging-out together with our family and with other families from our travel group. We have made many wonderful friends from our group and will miss them all very much when we go our different directions home next week. All of the girls are doing very well. The resiliency of these little ones is amazing. The smiles and the laughs that all of them have after only 4 days with their new families is an amazing thing to see.

Today is our last full day in Nanchang. Tomorrow morning, we will pick up Piper’s passport, and in the afternoon, we will fly to Guangzhou where we will get her Visa. It is a bittersweet farewell we will bid to Nanchang. While we are excited to continue the process and get our wonderful daughter home, we also realize that we are soon to leave Piper’s province. While it has been Piper’s home for less than 8-months, this place will always be very special to our family.

This will most likely be the last post until we are settled in at the White Swan hotel in Guangzhou. Please continue to keep us, along with the rest of our travel group, in your thoughts and prayers as we enter the final phase of our travels in here in China.

Hello, Piper. You are the most precious little girl I have ever seen! You glow like an angel in all the pictures. My son Jake looked at your picture and said, "She looks like me." I thought that was awesome. You definitely have a mommy and daddy who love you -- I can see it in their eyes!!!! I dream of meeting you some day. I doubt I will be able to get you out of your parents' arms but I will google at your from afar.

Michael and Vicki, I sent a message a moment ago but forgot to say who it was from. Whoops! I am beyond happy for you two beautiful people. The pictures are great because they show so much love in your eyes and happiness in your faces. Piper deserved you and you deserved her.

Love you and am so proud of you, Juli Montgomery
