Surprise

When Piper’s referral arrived last week, it contained a short medical description from an exam that took place on April 9. At the time, we believed this would be the only information we would have on Piper before we set out for China to meet her. We have now received a wonderful surprise, an update on Piper as of June 27. Still not a lot of information, but an update to hearing anything about our daughter is priceless right now. Here is some of the additional information we have found out about Piper. She is 25 inches in height, 13.2 pounds, and has a foot that is just over 3 inches long. Additionally, we have been told “She can walk in her go-cart and turn over and over on the ground. She begins to try crawling.” Listed under Personality, we are told she likes to be held by adults, and her favorite toys and activities are “colorful leather balls, music box and all kinds of toys. She likes to play with caretaker.”

We want to thank everyone for the wonderful congratulatory words, thoughts and prayers. We wish we could thank everyone individually, but have not been able to find the time. Your emails and comments have been greatly appreciated. We have taken time to save them all and they will be added to Piper’s lifebook.

The last week has been amazing. When asked what our emotions are, it is so hard to explain. Vicki summed it up with excited/anxious/nervous/tired. Our minds continually think about her. Luckily, we have a lot of things to do before she arrives, and keeping our lives filled helps the time pass. We have filled out many forms for items such as travel visas and, filled suitcases with Piper’s clothes, diapers, bottles, etc. and filled our hearts with love for this little girl we can’t wait to hold.
